About this project
The Anambra State Smart School Initiative is a transformative educational project aimed at modernizing teaching and learning through the integration of digital technology, innovation, and critical thinking. As a pilot phase, the initiative is currently being implemented in 22 selected schools—one in each of the state’s Local Government Areas (LGAs). These Smart Schools are equipped with interactive digital whiteboards, internet-enabled computer labs, solar-powered infrastructure, and trained teachers capable of delivering blended learning. The initiative addresses gaps in basic education by promoting digital literacy, improving student engagement, and preparing learners for a competitive, tech-driven future. Through this effort, the state seeks to build a replicable model that ensures equitable access to quality education and sets a benchmark for 21st-century learning environments in Nigeria.
