Anambra State Launches 'Solution Lens' Platform to Enhance Governance Transparency
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Anambra State Government through the the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning officially launched the "Solution Lens" platform, a digital initiative aimed at fostering transparency, accountability, and active citizen engagement in governance. This initative, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, and the Anambra State ICT Agency.
The event commenced with opening remarks from the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor. He commended the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for spearheading the Solution Lens initative and emphasized the importance of publicizing the platform to ensure its effective utilization by the citizens. Commissioners and Managing Directors from other key ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Lands, SID and Anambra State ICT Agency, echoed similar sentiments.
In her keynote address, The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, detailed the genesis and purpose of the Solution Lens platform. She explained that the platform was developed in response to the need for a centralized system where citizens can access real time information about government projects, policies and initatives. She emphasized that the platform would bridge the communication gap between citizens and government agencies, allowing for the submission of feedback, reporting of anomalies, and raising of concerns.
In preparation for the launch, focal persons from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) underwent training sessions to familiarize themselves with the platform's features and functionalities. The training focused on equipping officials with the necessary skills to navigate the platform effectively and engage with citizens transparently. A live demostration of the platform was also conducted on the launch day by Onyinye Okoye, from Anambra State ICT Agency, attendees were guided through the platform features, including how to navigate the interface, access updates on government activities and submit feedbacks and inquries.
The introduction of the Solution Lens platform marks a significant step towards digital governance in Anambra State, providing a model for open and participatory governance in Nigeria.
